About Us
Q Leisure & Thermex were formed in 2005, when it seemed like a logical progression for the two principals of the partnership, Robin Copeman and Paul Hazelwood, to combine their areas of expertise into a single enterprise.
Robin Copeman
Robin began his career with a full kitchen apprenticeship and a Chef of the year accolade in 1969 for Inde Coope Hotels.
A move in to management with J Lyons and Co gave him a solid background through all aspects of catering , before moving to Knebworth (home of pop concerts) and 17 years later general manager of Gatwick Airport's terminal catering.
He then joined Alton Towers with a brief to update the food service, and established an unprecedented level of profitability in Englands number 1 theme park, which resulted in a Directorship of Catering & Retail, and further group purchasing responsibilities.
Temptation to leave corporate life was sealed when Everton Football Club offered an opportunity not to be missed, and Robin spent 4 years in a similar role at Goodison Park.
Paul Hazlewood
Paul started his career in the navy in the mid seventies where he undertook his engineering apprenticeship. Apart from a b rief spell in the police force, he continued as a gas, electrical and refrigeration engineer and over the last 20 years ha s specialised in catering equipment and installation.
Between Robin and Paul they now use jointly acquired skills and depth of experience to run both Q Leisure & Thermex and Ye Olde Seven Stars, a unique market town pub in Kidderminster.
